The Explosion has been played on NTS in shows including Channeling w/ Ivan Smagghe & Nathan Gregory Wilkins, featured first on 12 December 2015. Songs played include Raga 4 and Disco Blind.

The Explosion is a punk rock band which formed in Boston, Massachusetts, United States in 1998. For most of their career, the band's lineup consisted of Matt Hock (vocals), David Walsh (guitar), Sam Cave (guitar), Damian Genuardi (bass), and Andrew Black (drums). Cave left the band in 2004 and was replaced by Christopher Gonzales. Over the course of their career, The Explosion issued two full length albums - "Flash Flash Flash" (2000) and "Black Tape" (2004) , three EPs, and had a minor American alternative rock radio hit with "Here I Am" in 2004. After leaving Virgin Records in 2007, the band disbanded later that year. The Explosion later regrouped for reunion concerts in 2011, 2014, 2016, and 2019.
