Flailing and shrieking its way through the Osaka electronics scene since 1994, NASCA CAR is primarily the work of one Nakaya Koichi, with additional contributions from whoever happens to be around at the time. Since 2008, the more-or-less stable Osaka lineup has also included guitarist Goto and drummer れお (the green-clad former drummer from Ni-Hao!), while Suzuki Junzo (guitars) and Sudo Toshiaki (drums, formerly of Melt-Banana) have rounded out the Tokyo configuration. (Other notable contributors have included Nishioka Yumiko, Yamazaki Maso (Masonna), Yoshida Mitsuhiro (Grind Orchestra), Matsue Jun (Yuki/Prismic Yuki Band) and Yoshikawa Toyohito (Boredoms.)
In addition to a battery of self-released CD-Rs (very few of which even go so far as to include track titles in their minimal liner notes) and a handful of tracks on Kansai-area compilations, most of the group's commercially-available output has seen the light of day through the (also quite local to Osaka) Tag Rag and Alchemy imprints.
