Choi Joonyong was born in 1977, and he lives in Seoul, South Korea. He started playing music in 1996 as a member of Sloe(later its name changed to Through the Sloe), as soon as he graduated high school. He sang and played guitar, and he wrote most of the songs. During that time he met Hong Chulki, and they found out that they both were interested in noise. So when Through the Sloe was on a break, they began their noise project Astronoise. He has also played guitar and keyboards in Through the Sloe and Puredigitalsilence for last few years. However he decided to focus on making noise and improvising with other musicians. His main instruments are opened cdplayers, mp3 player, video decks and reel tape recorders. He currently performs as a member of Astronoise, Seoul Frequency Group and as himself, improvising with other musicians. He has released 3 solo albums(including one web release) containing tracks made with cdplayer.
