Naphta

Naphta

Naphta has been played on NTS shows including Peking Spring w/ Jon K, with Celestial (Naphta Remix) first played on 7 July 2021.

There is more than one artist/band named Naphta:

Naphta is a DJ and producer hailing from Wrocław, Poland. Also one half of Polish DJ duo, Phat Trakz and host of Wroclaw’s infamous Loud & Clear parties, Naphta takes inspiration from a variety of electronic stylings, with a thick dose of soul and southern rap and acid techno thrown in for good measures. Naphta is a firm believer that emotional energy beats adherence to particular sounds, keeping his eyes out for the structure of chords and melodies. A participant in the Red Bull Music Academy 2011, the future looks bright for this youngster.

Naphta was a five-piece heavy rock band based in Paris, France. After 3 self-produced recordings and about 30 shows, they disbanded in March 2008. Discography: La Dernière Heure (2005) Soleil Rouge (2006) L'Homme de Verre (2007) Members: Paul Cazenave-Piarrot: drums (ex-Backbone Party & Les Gens du Fond) Julien Dias: vocals François Dorléans: guitar and backing vocals (Mondegreen, ex-The Skeletonz) Arnaud Le Pape: guitar (Backbone Party) Ardeshir Ross: bass until 2006 (Warnam) Jérôme Vieilledent: bass from 2006 (ex-Edge Caress)

Naphta is Shane O’Shea from Dublin, Ireland who has released Drum ‘N’ Bass / Jungle records on labels like Rohan’s Bassbin, and Fanu’s Lightless Recordings.
