It was 1982 when Paul cut up a record for the first time (Jimmy Spicer’s The Bubble Bunch) and 20+ years later he’s still at it. Hailing from Poughkeepsie, NY (but also claiming the Bay Area as his second home), Paul spent years honing his skills as a DJ in every category (ie: party rocker, club DJ, mix tape DJ, radio DJ and tour DJ) before utilizing that wealth of experience to make a name for himself in the indie hip hop scene during the last half of the 90’s. Accruing “production credits to die for” (Spin Magazine), Paul has produced and remixed the likes of Biz Markie, the Beastie Boys, Tony Touch, Lord Finesse, AG, Masta Ace, Guru (Gangstarr), Talib Kweli, Black Thought (The Roots), Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Greyboy, Sharon Jones, Quantic Soul Orchestra, Lady Kier (DeeeLite), Nightmares On Wax, The Dap Kings, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Rhymefest, Rasco, Planet Asia, Foreign Legion, Grand Agent, Abstract Rude, Swollen Members, San Quinn, Jamalski (BDP), Rocker T and Eek-a-Mouse to name but a few. The general masses caught wind of Paul through a few critically acclaimed underground mix CDs like Breaks For Days & Soul On The Grill. He’s also found fans among the turntablist elite like Q-Bert, Babu & Rob Swift with his world renown Battle Break series “5 Fingers of Death” as well as his “Drum Library” series utilized most famously by Kanye West and Common. When not touring the worldwide DJ circuit, Paul is hard at work in the studio putting the finishing touches on his long awaited debut album “Nice One”, on UK label Antidote (a subsidiary of Sanctuary Records).
