Liverpool band Cyclic Amp documented the ennui and paranoia of the late 80′s inner city with sledge-hammer accuracy. Inspired as much by the likes of Throbbing Gristle and early Swans as the punk bands that preceded them they combined rudimentary sampling, lumbering bass, amplifier feedback and garrotted vocals into their singularly bleak, dissaffected and dystopian view of Thatcher’s England.
