1) Toshio Masuda (増田俊郎, Masuda Toshio, born October 28, 1959 in Tokyo) is a Japanese synthesizer player, composer and music director. He has composed and synthesised scores for several Japanese television shows and animated series. His works include music for Flint, The Time Detective (1998), Jubei-chan (1999), Now and Then, Here and There (1999), Excel Saga (1999), Daa! Daa! Daa! (2000), Hand Maid May (2000), Puni Puni Poemy (2001), Mahoromatic (2001), Naruto (2002-2007), Ai Yori Aoshi (2002), Ai Yori Aoshi: Enishi (2003), Jubei-chan 2 (2004), Mushishi (2005), Ghost Hunt (2006), Higepiyo (2009), Kamisama Hajimemashita (2012).
2) Toshiro Masuda (増田俊郎, same Kanji characters but read as Masuda Toshiro) born September 26, 1954 is a Japanese vocalist. The one with the beard. Active mainly in the Kansai region.
Toshiro was taught the guitar by his cousin and was in a band in high school. He participated in an Osaka concert in 1974 and from there, he traveled to live houses for more exposure. It was in 1976 that he won an award for “Brother on ’A’ Water” and debuted with that song in 1978. His first single came in 1979, titled “Good Bye”.
