Arriving on the House Music scene in 1995, Shahrokh was quickly recognized as having the potential to become an International cult figure. An amalgamation of hard work and undoubted talent is demonstrated on his debut EP release „Deff Punch/Roya“ on Black Flame records which was released in 1997 and received media acclaim. Shahrokh’s second EP „Phunk Communication“ on Caus-N’-ff-ct Records dispelled rumors he would be unable to maintain the standard he set with his initial release and the exclusive London club and record label Miss Moneypenney’s licensed the standout song.
What sets Sharokh apart is his ability to differentiate himself from the masses with an eclectic blend of influences from his Iranian childhood and his German upbringing; a concotion unlike any other DJ can offer. It is this distinctive approach that caught the attention of artists like Jazzanova, Carl Craig or Hans Nieswandt. These affiliations have resulted in some groundbreaking collaborations that has really enabled Shahrokh to achieve the notoriouty he desreved.
Tunes like „Yo Yomma“ (Caus-N’-ff-ct) appeared on the soundtrack of Wolfgang Peterson’s Blockbuster „Stargate“. Shahrokh has also re-worked songs for Caus-N’-ff-ct which have included Donna Summer´s „Hot Stuff“ and „Bad Girls“ and a remix for Gloria Gaynor „Last Night“ for the project „DJ Empire – A Tribute To Giorgio Moroder“ (Caus-N’-ff-ct/BMG Ariola).
Not content with producing and mixing, Shahrokh also has a history of running a well renowned nightclub. Mood Lounge now claims Amé (Christian Beyer and Frank Wiedermann) as regular DJ’s and has enjoyed unrivalled success under Shahrokh’s guidance. It has also attracted some of the industries prominent personalities – from DJ Deep to King Britt – from Charles Webster to Peter Kruder – they all shaked hands at the Mood Lounge.
Shahrokh’s revolutionary track „Owlflight“ has received rave reviews from influential DJ’s like Rainer Trüby, Peter Kruder, Atjazz, Sasse and Àme – nonetheless he continued to push boundaries and recent releases such as “Black Bird” has galvanized a resurrection of the minimal style last heard in the 1990’s. His third EP which was produced in conjunction with Andreas Koehler featured the indisputable talent of uprising Australian singer Jamie Lloyd and is based on hypnotic bass lines. His debut album “Dripping Point”, which will be released on Compost in November 2008, is a distillate of Shahrokh’s musical key-influences like Garage, Afro, House, Jazz and Discofunk and includes more vocal features from Jamie Lloyd, the gifted Swedish songstress Siri Svegler plus an extraordinary Robert Owens on top of the game.
Shahrokh has realized his potential and is now looking to bring his distinctive and innovative style to your Club.
