Vermilion Sands was a japanese prog-rock band that was most active between 1987-1999. Their melodic, romantic style of prog-rock reached its high point with the 1989 album Water Blue (re-released in 1999 [Musea label] with 3 bonus tracks). Their music was influenced by such groups as Renaissance, Camel and Fairport Convention. Their vocalist Youko Rouyama died in 2004 taking with her the pillar stone of the group.
