Blind Joe was born in Fargo, ND. When he was three years old, his Grandpa Bob bought him his first guitar. He would sit in his basement and Grandpa Bob would teach him the notes on his accordian. They'd sing everything from Hank Williams and Jim Croche to Merle, Waylon and Willy. When Joe was 6 years old, his gym teacher, Mr. A., would let him attempt to sing on stage to old Travis Tritt and Charlie Daniels songs during class. But really, who can sing when they're 6 years old? Country music was a huge part of his childhood.
When Joe was 11 years old, he heard PanterA's "Cowboys From Hell" and was hooked. He started listening to more metal as the years went on and in his search for the best metal band of all time, he found 7dust. He loves the way they combine southern rock with hard core metal. Some of his other influences include Brad Paisley, Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, David Allen Coe, Skynyrd, and Segar. As for the "soul" in his music, BB King, Ray Charles, and CCR are some influences.
Joe grew up mainly in West Fargo and Kindred, ND. He moved to Arkansas to go to college and got a degree in Public Relations. Arkansas was definitely challenging for a ND boy in Little Rock for the first time. He tried to get a gig everywhere, but mainly got ripped off or the door slammed in his face. While attending school, Richard, Linda and Ed hooked Joe up at their local red neck bar called the Press Box. They helped him discover that he absolutely love to play live.
Eventually, Joe came back to Minnesota where he met his best friend, my fiance, and manager, RikiLynn. She helped him realize that if he put my mind to it, he can do anything. Joe claims that if it wasn't for her, he wouldn't be writing music at all. She gives him the confidence he needs to make songs sound the way they do.
Right now, it's just Joe and his guitar, but he's looking for band members who are serious about music. So if you're SERIOUS, drop him a message and he'll get back to you. (PROFESSIONAL INQUIRIES ONLY, PLEASE.
"Yo, Blind Joe, if they dig what you're doin', right on brotha. And if they don't, tell 'em to kiss your blind white ass".
