The Running Man

The Running Man has been played on NTS in shows including The NTS Breakfast Show w/ Zakia, featured first on 28 October 2022. Songs played include Spirit.

his English progressive band had it's strength in the guitar player Ray Russell, well known for his fastness and talent. Powerful jazz-rock tracks, alternate with softer moments. Featuring the sax player Gary Windo." On Jim O'Rourke's Top Ten Thousand list.

It's Ray Russell-time again, which means at least some good savage progressive style guitar. Typical seventies progressive rock tracks are effectively alternated with a few almost Procol Harum-like numbers, characterised by the plaintive voice of Alan Greed. This combination makes for a partly successful concept.

Neon was established by RCA Records at the close of the 1960s as a progressive music label in much the same way EMI Records had done with Harvest Records; Decca Records establishment of Deram Records; Philips Records forming of Vertigo Records and Pye Records mildly successful Dawn Records. Neon's releases are quite rare and are sought after by record collectors.
