London-based DJ and producer Nabihah Iqbal (formerly known as Throwing Shade) brings you an ethnomusicological perspective on weird and wonderful music from around the world. British four piece Seefeel emerged at a time when rock music had begun to stagnate, with grunge’s intense energy starting to fade. Fusing textured, heavily treated guitar tones with electronic sequencers & drum machines, the group forged an inventive new path that casts a quiet influence on artists to this day. Australian DJ Moopie explores the band’s lush, inventive discography with this two hour In Focus.

POWER-GAZE Wray isn’t afraid to revel in repetition, churning (like butter) confident, seamless grooves firmly in the tradition of NEU!, Faust, or Can. Their shimmering, headphone-ready tones owe much to Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, and even The Cure, but without the crippling self-absorption of chillwave, dreampop, or whatever all the sad bastards are listening to this week. It’s music for an audience, for a rock show. It’s got a beat and you can dance to it. The band is Wray and the album is Wray and you can play it at a party and people will like it.
Members David Brown - Bass/Vocals David Swatzell - Guitar/Vocals Blake Wimberly - Drums
