Atahualpa has been played on NTS in shows including Field Work, featured first on 4 July 2015. Songs played include Amazonas, Ultimo Imperio and Andino (Ambient Mix).

Since 1991, Bolivar Burga has performed around the world: Asia, Europe, South & North America with different musical groups.

In 1993, Bolivar came to the United States were he became the founder of the group Atahualpa.

Members of the group play different rhythms such us Cumbia, San Juanito, Taquirari, Salsa and others. The music has a combination of sounds from a large variety of wind and string instruments such as Rondadores, Quenas, Zampoñas, Charangos, Bandolines, Violins, etc. These instruments along with the musicians produce a unique environment and sound that is delightful for the audience.

The group has performed at many State Fairs, Art Fairs, Schools and Universities; sharing the tradition, customs, and music with people and creating better knowledge and understanding from different cultures.
