Laura León was born on 9th February 1996 in Vigo. She graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Santiago de Compostela, and then studied for a Master's Degree in Theory and Practice of Documentary Cinema at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Laura has a special interest in disciplines such as lomography, audiovisual sound, and almost any subject that involves the convergence of sound with the visual arts. After the publication of her first studio album of ambient music, she decided to join disciplines in the video-artistic project Perceptions of a Silence (2018), which she created and directed by getting in touch with twelve people from all over the world dedicated to music and sound art. This work earned him his entry into the British label Phantom Limb, which published the master version of the twelve tracks that make up the video art installation under the name 12 Perceptions of a Silence.

Play in Sans Soleil - Vigo's post-rock/post-metal-band. Laura León created the film Percepciones de un Silencio, and this new album is a collection of ‘film scores’ intended as the soundtrack to the film.

Featuring musicians from across the Mediterranean (both European and African), the Middle East, Spanish-speaking Latin America, South-East Asia among others, these twelve scores represent twelve individual iterations of Laura’s film, here released as a collection to make up an “album” of wilfully non-standard construction.
