Karma Stewart

Karma Stewart

Karma Stewart has been played on NTS shows including If Music Presents You Need This w/ Jean-Claude, with On A Cloud first played on 19 March 2023.

KARMA STEWART presents her fiery and passionate soul with a style and charisma that is destined to shine. From her upbringing in Germany, as the daughter of a military officer, to her rearing in East Austin, Texas, Karma’s worldview has been uniquely shaped.

Karma’s firm musicianship gels with witty spontaneity. She has innate ability as a “song stylist,” claiming any song her own upon performance; finding common ground in it’s pain or joy. Karma’s unique style, soul, and personality reflect the sum of her experiences.

Presently, Karma is gaining attention on a global scale as a featured vocalist on the latest project from PPP (formerly known as Platinum Pied Pipers). Karma’s involvement in both their new album, Abundance & the world tour of the critically acclaimed hip-hop/soul group, has blossomed into a magical musical chemistry between herself, singer/songwriter, Coultrain, and producers Waajeed and Saadiq.

In addition to the skill and energy of her vocal performance, Karma’s impressive resume includes years of experience and accolades. She found a mentor in Austin Community College music professor/big band conductor Tom Husak. Shortly after the acquaintance, Karma tore the house down at New York City’s Tavern On The Green with the New York Big Band led by Joe Battaglia. Her version of “Stormy Weather”, recorded with the band, was even submitted to the Grammy board. In addition, Karma has thrilled many an Austin audience with her performances with The Atlantics, Omar Lopez, and Tom Husak’s Big Swing Band.

Karma’s performance experience transcends the recording booth and includes success in theater productions such as the musicals Shakin’ The Mess Outta Misery, in which she was nomitated for a B. Iden Payne Award, Trippin To Nowhere, and the improv production of Tabula Rasa. Also, Karma’s role in the musical Ain’t Misbehavin’, performed at Austin’s State Theater, received rave reviews in the Austin-American Statesman. The following year, a Karma-led Monster Big Band was voted second-best Live Jazz Band in the Austin Chronicle Reader’s Poll.

Upon moving to Los Angeles, Karma Stewart’s manifestation continued. Karma became involved with a Broadway-bound production of Baby It’s You, the story of the Shirelle’s, directed by Floyd Mutrux and produced by the world-renown Richard Perry.

With the combination of talent, heart, and tireless work ethic, Karma is poised to fulfill her dream of sharing her gift and making a living from it at the same time. “If I can do what I love and support myself,” Karma declares, “I will be happy.” This is the maturity and humility that provides Karma a stable foundation for growth and success as an artist.

Join the masses in welcoming and witnessing Karma’s fulfillment of her destiny as a divine entertainer; relentlessly seeking justice.
