Nitetrax presents an exploratory range of club music every month, from classic and forgotten trax by the pioneers, to front line mutations by the innovators of today.
Sam Knee navigates and curates lost underground countercultural sounds with deep dives into specific sub-scenes, regions, years, labels of the near mythical 80’s post punk DIY indie guitar era and beyond, back to its 60s basement punk genesis.

There are, at least, four bands known as The Caretakers:
1) 60s garage rock band (from San Bernadino, CA, USA tag as Caretakers), who released four singles, on three labels. Best known for their cover of East Side Story (Bob Seger). Bruce Robertson (lead singer), went on to record a rare psychedelic LP, as Garrett Lund.
2) A Hamilton, ON, Canada act which began as a song-writing studio project, then evolved into a live folk rock act. In the studio, it's more of a folk rock act on steroids! Jeffrey C. Martin, the group's lead singer/songwriter, says: "The début single, Mr Harper How?, was written as a musical response to the political dysfunction of the current Canadian government & to the prime minister's hegemonic infatuation, with individualistic American-type values."
3) Formed 1959, Jönköping, Sweden Disbanded 1967 Members Mike Wallace, Lars Starck, Thomas Starck, Claes Lindqvist (1959-66), Stefan Möller, Derek Martin (1966-67) Also Known As Mike Wallace & The Caretakers Made 7 singles and one album - Have a Ball with The Caretakers.
4) A plunderphonics/hauntology supergroup focused on creating fan projects inspired by The Caretaker's works (mainly Everywhere at the End of Time), formed by Jordan Keuring in 2020.
