Dive into the joy of samba with this mix, featuring Jardel’s tracks "Mudança De Pobre" and "Samba Sem Motivo" from his 1977 album "Sou O Que Sou" on the extinct PopSteel label from Volta Redonda. A tribute to Brazil’s lively spirit, where samba rhythms and carnival joy inspire a welcoming culture.

Canamii

Canamii

Canamii has been played on NTS in shows including The Windmills of Your Mind w/ Taylor Rowley, featured first on 13 July 2023. Songs played include The Jester.

Canamii is an obscure South African female-fronted progressive folk rock band with vocals by Claire Whittaker. Their sound has much in common with mid 70s UK progressive groups. A must-have for all Spriguns, Renaissance and early Curved Air fans.

Canamii was a studio project conceived by EMI South Africa sound engineers Phillip Nel and Claire Whittaker. Guitarist Paul Woodley later joined the project whose name was based on the original duo's respective star signs. Recorded over several months during studio downtime, additional musicians were conscripted as needed, resulting in one concept album in 1980 before they continued their musical careers separately thereafter.
