Paolo Vinaccia (born 1954 in Italy) is an Italian composer, jazz drummer and percussionist. He started drumming in 1965, and has lived in Norway since 1979. He has worked with Terje Rypdal, Bendik Hofseth, Jan Eggum, Knut Reiersrud, Jonas Fjeld, Palle Mikkelborg, Mike Manieri, Jon Christensen, David Darling, Arild Andersen and Bugge Wesseltoft, among others. Paolo has contributed on more than a 100 recordings.
In 2010, Jazzland Records released Very Much Alive, a 6-CD collection of concerts he did with Terje Rypdal, Ståle Storløkken and Palle Mikkelborg. The material was recorded and produced by Paolo himself, and contains live recordings from concerts done in Fredrikstad, Sarajevo, Berlin, Sundalsøra and Arendal, as well as a bonus disc with other material.
On April 2nd, 2010 he celebrated his 45th years as a professional drummer/percussionist.
