Babak Ganjei's monthly grunge and garage hangover rolls through with classics old and new, from Memphis to London, interspersed, of course, with totally irrelevant jokes and chat.

Manchester
19:00 - 20:00

Centred around forward-thinking club music and experimental sounds, Mutualism functions as a label, mix series and club night with a focus on inclusivity, exploration and collaboration.

Bears

Bears

Bears has been played on NTS shows including Forager Records, with Put A Little Love In Your Heart first played on 17 August 2023.

There are at least 4 bands known as Bears:

An indie pop band from Cleveland, Ohio. The band consists of Craig Ramsey (drums, vocals, keys, bells, tambourine, guitar, bass) and Charlie McArthur (guitar, vocals, bass, bells). Bears released a self-titled CD/LP in 2006, an EP called Shortest Day of the Year in 2007, a 7" single called Who Knows in 2008, a second album, Simple Machinery, in 2008, a 7" called Snowman in 2009. A third album is set to be released in 2010. More info at: www.myspace.com/bearspop and www.bearspop.com

Emo/screamo from Hobart, Australia. http://www.facebook.com/bearspunk

A punk band formed in Waltford, England in 1976 by ex Wire guitarist George Gill. Originally a wacky punk band called Smarter & The Average Bears they sang about dodgems and other zany things. Like Wire they went in for minimalist song riffs but unlike Wire clearly had a sense of humour and the absurd. Take a look at Fun, Fun Fun their contribution to Farewell To The Roxy about dropping bags of flour off tower blocks on peoples heads and compare it to the other songs about snipers, getting yourself killed, living in a car and so on. The Bears suffered from infrequent recordings, line up changes and personal disasters which is a shame because they were a bit special and should have had more success. Punk wasn't all about anger and shouting and The Bears showed some real individuality.

The rest of the band comprised Kris Kershaw (again ex Wire), Ron West - Bass guitar, Cally Cameron - Drums and Mick North on Vocals.John Entrails replaced Mick North after he was killed in his motorbike in 1977.

Bears! is an ambient musician from Raleigh, North Carolina, who has a strong emphasis on Minimalistic and Psychadelic themes in his songs. He currently has released a split with the artist [praw], and will have more albums released within the year. His official website is: www.myspace.com/bearsnc
