Melton Constable has been played on NTS in shows including The Windmills of Your Mind w/ Taylor Rowley, featured first on 24 August 2023. Songs played include River Lane.

Melton Constable was a British folk ensemble from Cambridge active in the early 70s. Named after the village in Norfolk, the band emerged after the demise of Cambridge blues outfit Toby Jug & Washboard Band. Lead singer Steve Brooks and brothers Alan and Trevor Vincent formed Melton Constable. After playing a few local gigs (including the 1971 Cambridge Free Festival), a studio demo was made of the Brooks' song "River Lane". While rumours persist of further recordings, these have been denied by band members.
