looms., also known as languid looms. (stylised in lowercase with a period) is an outsider British hip-hop artist, writer, singer-songwriter and one half of the cloak-and-dagger recording duo languid.oceans.

Backed by a cult-like underground following and a single line-drawn insignia of an unexplained face; looms. is a rapper, producer and writer famed for his unique crooning delivery and scathingly heady and morose sound.

Raised by a single mother in an English ghost town, looms. found unexpected success after drip-feeding a series of intimate and alienating demos onto Soundcloud in 2015. Without the support of labels, press or videos, his music spread organically throughout the internet, gaining millions of independent streams and radio spins before his first official project release.

Following his demo compilation (2015-2017), looms. signed with L.A. label Alpha Pup Records in 2019 for out of innards. an eight-part project with each track themed around a major organ. He was the first British rapper to ever release with them. Between a number of tours (including a residency at the prestigious Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club) and sporadic solo projects, looms. then released the transatlantic languid.oceans album with Bahamian rapper Obijuan.

In 2023, he established The Lo & Behold Construction Company with the album Saints Are Hard to Live With. A painfully intimate project which was sold exclusively through handwritten letters.

looms. is often described as elusive; known to continually deny interviews, shy away from social media (beyond a private Instagram account) and refuse to offer fans any images of himself beyond the hand drawn face. The very same face can be seen tagged all over London, and sitting embroidered onto the highly sought after clothing that he sporadically presses and sells online, all of which are numbered and limited to 50 pieces each run.

looms. continually releases music privately on his website, as well as periodical chapbooks of poetry by a writer named Andrew Keyman.
