Punk-funk-techno-trash. EC Groove Society combines the energy of punk with the swing of funk, the beats of hiphop and the minimalism of techno. The Amsterdam based trio has been receiving raving reviews in prestigious Dutch newspapers and magazines like de Volkskrant and Oor. 'The most energetic dance album ever in Holland released' was the summary of one of them. But it's not only Holland that has been enthusiastic about the music of EC Groove Society (Erwin Blom, Corne Bos, Spike Daalder). English dj's like Justin Robertson, Alex Knight and Kris Needs have been playing 12-inches of the group to death in their sets. And let's not forget the fact that the members of EC Groove Society recorded several sessions for living BBC legend John Peel. With names like Public Enemy, Underground Resistance and The Undertones being mentioned as inspirational sources for the group, it can't be a surprise that the sound of EC Groove Society is loud, energetic, funky, uncompromising and raw. That is the case on record, it's even more so when EC Groove Society plays live. Don't miss them!
