Coumbane Mint Ely Warakane is a Maurtanian griot born into a large musical family. She dedicates herself to her art from the tender age of ten and dreams of spreading the moorish music throughout the world. In a country boasting a substantial number of excellent singers, Coumbane is without a doubt not given the most media coverage and she has not travelled widely abroad. Nevertheless her natural ,supple vocal flourishes are equally as seductive as her virtuosity.
