Mingus Dynasty has been played on NTS shows including Donna Leake, with Boogie Stop Shuffle first played on 21 March 2024.

Mingus Dynasty was formed in 1979, shortly after the death of jazz bassist and composer Charles Mingus, to keep the music of Mingus alive. Mingus Dynasty has featured many alumni of the Mingus groups. In recent years, it has become one of a trio of Mingus legacy bands: Mingus Dynasty is a septet, the ten-piece Mingus Orchestra, and the Mingus Big Band with 14 members.
