1) Cato is an NJ-born, Brooklyn-based soul music singer/songwriter. He was raised on a mixture of Motown greats, 70s funk, 80s power ballads, and 90s Gospel, Hip-hop, and R&B, making Cato's sound a unique and evolving blend of eras. http://www.lifeofcato.com

Cato has written music for feature films like "Stone" (starring Robert De Niro, Edward Norton and Milla Jovovich) and "Smokin' Aces" (starring Jeremy Piven, Andy Garcia and Alicia Keys among others). Cato wrote the score for the HBO/Bold Films/Trigger Street feature film "Mini's First Time" (starring Alec Baldwin, Nikki Reed, Luke Wilson, Carrie Anne-Moss, Jeff Goldblum, dir. Nick Guthe, prod. Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti) as well as for other award-winning feature films and documentaries (incl. "The Kennedy Detail" for 3-time Oscar™ nominee Vince DiPersio). In addition to his work for film and television Cato releases artist projects (including "Eccotonic") through his Kiite Records label, remixes (incl. a placement in "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps") and has written music for video games and several national commercials. He has also had his music licensed to over 200 major movie trailers (among the latest are "Tron: Legacy", "Sherlock Holmes" and the "Harry Potter" series). On February 1st, 2011 Kiite Records released Cato's 'from ambient/ethereal to electronic/noise/industrial' score to the psychological thriller feature film "Claustrophobia" (starring Russell Harvard, known from "There Will Be Blood"). 3) Calen "Cato" Schaefer, who has released the albums "Day by Day", "Defiant" and "Split Decision", is a rapper who was born in Champaign-Urbana, and moved to the St. Louis urban Illinois area at the age of 8. He started writing at the age of 12 years old with short stories, fiction, and poetry, but eventually moved into writing music.

4) Cato Tjåland, artist name Cato, is a Norwegian pop singer-songwriter. He was born and raised in Egersund, a small town on the south-west coast of Norway. The last few years he has worked as a teacher, personal trainer and health food adviser in Norway's main oil city, Stavanger. Some years ago, Cato was classified as one of Norway's best triathletes, and it was first at the end of that career that he became interested in song-writing. Cato writes both the lyrics & melodies.

For the past 5 months, Cato has been involved in a recording project with the producers Graeme Duffin & Sandy Jones at Foundry Music Lab, Glasgow, Scotland. Duffin is the 5th member of the famous pop group Wet Wet Wet. He was also responsible for the production of the two- million selling hit “Love Is All Around”. Cato has also recorded several songs in corporation with the Oslo production team Ruben Dalen & Stian Schøld Hansen.

The album "A New Day" was released on April 27, 2009.
