Dave “Deptford” Pine, David Coker, Laurant Webb, Justin Bailey & Charlie One Name Variations: Wubble-U, Wubble U http://www.myspace.com/wubbleumusic
Wubble-U were a dance music act of the mid 1990s that were signed to BMG's 'indie' label Indolent. They comprised of Laurant Webb, Justin Bailey, Dave Pine and Dave Coker and were most famous for the single Petal. This was originally a 1994 release that featured the comedian Stanley Unwin. A 1998 re-release took the track to number 55 in the UK Chart.
The band also remixed such artists as Madness, Gabriel, The Cardigans, the 60ft Dolls and Lisa Morish to name but a few. Signed to BMG in 1997 the bands album "Where's Wubble-U" received crital acclaim and laid down the ground rules for post punk pop/electronic non-sense dance album of the future.

1998 CD Single Petal
01 Petal [English Rose Pruned] 02 Petal [Freestylers Top Rock Remix]
from - global-trance.co.uk Released 2/98 on Indolent Records. Written and produced by Wubble-U. Werbs of deef wisdom from Professor Stanley Unwin. Vocals by Charlie One. Addtional remix and production on track 2 by Freestylers. Head straight for the Freestylers Top Rock Remix, which is a wonderful combination of big beat & Hammond organs, featuring the instantly recognisable spoken lyrics of Professor Stanley Unwin stating that "its difficult these days to get good grass"!

01 Slap 'N' Tickle 02 Petal [Hayfever] 03 Hellektro 04 F-Nik
1997 Petal [Murk Mixes]
01 Petal [Murk's Green Dog House Mix] 02 Petal [Murk's Miami Heat Mix] 03 Petal [Murk's Funky Green Dub] 04 Petal [Murky Dub]
from - global-trance.co.uk Promo release 1997 as a double vinyl on Indolent Records. Written and produced by Wubble-U. Remix and additional production by Oscar Gaetan & Ralph Falcon for Murk Productions. A range of average mixes that combine dub with 2 step dance beats. Very different and no where near as good as the Freestylers Top Rock Remix.
1997 Petal
01 Petal [English Rose) 02 Petal [Freestyler's Top Rock Remix] 03 Petal [Murk's Green Dog House Mix] 04 Petal [Fontaine and Verne Mix] 05 Petal [African Violet]

01 Petal [English Rose Pruned] 02 Petal [English Rose] 03 Petal [At the Garden Centre with 108 Grand] 04 Petal [Seefel's Pollination Warfare] 05 Petal [Deep in the Undergrowth Rose Bud Dub] 06 Petal [Stanley Clears the Throakus]
from - global-trance.co.uk Released 1994 on Go! Discs Limited. Germinated by Wubble-U. Vocals by Charlie One and Professor Stanley Unwin. Track 3 re-potted by 108 Grand. Track 4 re-potted by seefel. Further remixes of 'Petal' feature on this single, which unfortunately are a little on the bizarre side, lagging behind the Freestylers superior version. However, the bonus on this CD is Stanley Clears the Throakus which is the full accapella from Prof Unwin.
