Los Compadres has been played on NTS in shows including Rachel Grace Almeida, featured first on 13 August 2024. Songs played include Las Mujeres Estan (Ladies Are Hot!) (El Cibao Club Mix).

Duo Los Compadres was formed by the cousins Lorenzo Hierrezuelo (Compay Primo) and Francisco Repilado (Compay Segundo) in La Habana, Cuba in 1952. After Repilado left the Duet, Lorenzo got together with his younger brother Reinaldo Hierrezuelo and continued until the death of Lorenzo in 1986. Their "SON" songs had very social-customs-political messages and were very danceable.

Reinaldo is in his 90's and he's still composing and singing with his group "Vieja Trova" in Santiago…
