Laila Smith (born April 19, 2006), professionally known as Laila!, is a recording artist, songwriter, producer, and audio engineer from Brooklyn, New York City. She also is the daughter of Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def.

Laila! began her music career in 2023, releasing self-produced instrumentals and DJ mixes of classic R&B songs. Her early works, which feature remixes of tracks by artists such as Brandy, Aaliyah, and Flo Milli, can be found on her official SoundCloud page.

In March 2023, Laila! released her debut track, “Like That!,” which went viral on TikTok a year later, amassing over 15 million streams on Spotify.

Her debut performance was the opener for Teezo Touchdown’s Spend the Night Tour, even more conveniently, the show was in her hometown of Brooklyn.

It’s also worth mentioning that all of Laila!’s songs are produced, mixed and mastered by herself.
