Old friends and hapless mavericks Ivan Smagghe and Nathan Gregory Wilkins present a fortnightly window into their ramshackle musical world. A show with absolutely no rules (as they'd only break them). We love the unmixable, old & new. We are oddballs and we love you.
Cuban record collector, ethnomusicologist researcher, picks up a hour of global vinyl via Havana every two weeks.

1.) Junk DNA was formed long before the band were named. The brainchild of guitarist Iqbal Birdi (also of the No Sorrows) the two, then three, members met at school in West London in the mid-eighties. Influenced by the rising Indie scene of the time and acts like: Lloyd Cole, The Police, The Smiths; the founder members spent every spare moment avoiding their songwriting destiny. Fronted by vocal powerhouse Rajesh Magan, guitars, keys and electronica by the aforementioned Iqbal Birdi and bass later provided by Bennet Sills (also of The Passion); Junk DNA began humbly in cold garages and bedrooms as songs were written, crafted, re-written and finally recorded in 2001. Strong melodies, intelligent lyrics and majestic basslines exemplified by the sublime Wish You Were Here, Mother, Wishing Well and Nightboat as well as driving anthems like Don't You Know and 1000 Faces are the cornerstone of their sound. Currently working on side projects (Iqbal with the No Sorrows, Bennet standing in for Louise of The Passion and Rajesh with his two sons Satchin and Vinay), the members of Junk DNA continue to talk about a comeback tour and album.
2) A solo project by Ellie Thatcher from Chicago, Illnois.
