Trances was a post-hardcore band from Stockton/Lodi, California, United States.
Trances started writing music over the summer of 2010 in various locations across the 209 with different members from all over the state. Searching for the right elements seemed to be more of a challenge then the actual writing of the music. Started by singer Jordan Blake and guitarist DJ Blackard during the spring, writing music every chance they had either in the studio or on tour. The two worked together combining influences from two separate backgrounds creating something too powerful for the drum kits on their MacBooks.
Joining up with drummer Mike Gaetke was just what was needed to bring the project to life. Mike who had previous experience writing music with DJ had brought the attention that Nick, the bass player other their old band was seeking a new band. So after the 3 ex members of (Return From Exile) and Jordan Blake found a location to practice they started writing a group of songs . Going by the title "The Alphament" EP. Early October Trances recorded "The Alphament" with good friend Aaron Pauley at his studio in Vacaville, California. Trances booked shows over Northern California while searching for ways to get on the open road.
