African Dream was formed in 1993. They are from Cape Town, South Africa

Originally their music was very traditional using marimbas, drums and percussion. They played music that encompasses the songs and dances of their heritage. Now, since the band has gained maturity in the field of music, they have been exposed to many influences. Their compositions continue to include African traditions but some are fusion with jazz and contemporary music. It is the band's mission to show that on marimbas you can play all kinds of music. As their ame African Dream suggest, they wish that their music will go out to the world and help in bringing sweet harmonies to many diverse cultures.
