2)A Wigan guitar band from the late 90s. Fleck is a Wigan guitar band from the late 90s, famous for Brendan O'Leary's (singer) quip of being a "piss poor indie band".
The band released a 4 track demo and an album that received some critical acclaim, but an unimpressed public wanted nothing more than shambolic life performances.
Most of the bands repertoire was a combination of O'Leary's sometimes surreal, but always melodic lyric lines and Matthew Dolan's (guitar) perfect pop sensibilities.
Other members included Kieron O'Leary (drums) Simon 'L' Peirce (bass) and Phil Rigby (guitar).
Earlier founding members included Ian Nightingale (guitar) and Andrew Thompson (bass). But these individuals left following artistic differences and bright solo careers.
The band split in 1999. Brendan O'Leary continues to write and perform in a number of bands and as a solo artist. Matthew Dolan has become a popular video producer and has directed a number of successful videos. Phil Rigby now plays with the Stray Dog Cafe and works with the collective of Manchester.
