Errorsmith

On 10 September 2019, Errorsmith was a guest on Mosca; and on 9 October 2017 was a guest on PAN. Errorsmith has been played on NTS over 170 times, featured on 160 episodes and was first played on 17 April 2013.

Cheekily named after Aerosmith, Erik Wiegand's project Errorsmith is a pure live performance. The third Errorsmith release contains a selection of live recordings made between 2001 and 2003 in various clubs and concert venues from Berlin to Chicago. Wiegand's performances are interpretations of classic disco and r'n b songs. Digitally synthesized, distorted and filtered clubmusic which goes far beyond its origin.

The live sets are played on a laptop with a selfbuild digital live tool, a combination of a simple sequencer and a synthesizer. Errorsmith uses this tool to manipulate both the rhythmical pattern and the triggered sounds in realtime. With a huge degree of freedom in playing his instrument, his perfomances are very different from each other. From an abstract sound to dancefloor compatible, heavy clubmusic, Errorsmith tries to combine it.

After a hiatus between 2004 and 2010, Errorsmith starting releasing EPs again, and 2017 finally saw the release of his 3rd album "Superlative Fatigue".
