Midnite Madness endeavours to unearth the spirit of the ancient metal gods as well as the genre's new flesh, taking in most styles—heavy, thrash, black, speed, death, punk, doom, etc. There will be some exclusion: no nu-metal, no triggered drums, no posers and no requests. Only metal is real!

Derek Marin was born & raised in New York City. He developed a passion for music early on, playing the drums at age 9. Being influenced by groups like Depeche Mode, New Order, The Smiths, he started playing in bands at age 14. During this time he also started to build his production & DJ skills, taking charge of the recording, mixing, & editing aspects at home and in the studio. He also began to experiment with keyboards & other instruments. By 1994, Derek started to become a respected DJ in the electronic community in New York. It wasn't long before he started being part of important events, holding down residencies & commercially releasing tracks on many respected underground labels like Plastic City, Swag & A Touch of Class. In 2001, he started his own imprint Faucet Music & later the sub labels Modest Music & Sideviewer Records - with the intention of controlling all the aspects of the artistic & business processes from creation to release. Along with releasing material under his own name he also releases tracks & remixes under many other monikers & groups including: Modest D, Platonik, Sideview, Clockpunchers, Autopilot & My Better Half.
