Isadora is the name of at least 3 artists:
Isadora was an alternative rock/post-hardcore band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States.Their Myspace bio in 2007: Since their 2003 inception, ISADORA has been making waves across the nation with their divergent approach to the over-hyped and over-hyphenated sub-genre world of indie rock. Their idea is simple---fuse aspects of indie-rock, pop-punk, hardcore, and rock---and craft unforgettable songs with poise, style, and substance.
With their unique sound and appeal, ISADORA hit the ground running-- touring the country before the band's youngest had even reached age twenty. Their powerful presence picked up fans of every genre as they staked their claim in rock'n'roll. This consistent touring led the band to dates along the 2005 Vans Warped Tour, as well as sharing an ever-growing number of one-offs with a variety of bands including 30 Seconds To Mars, Aiden, The Receiving End of Sirens, Cobra Starship, Men Women and Children, Gym Class Heroes, Valencia, Punchline, The Queers, ActionReaction, and many more.
"Each of us listens to so many different kinds of music,” says vocalist Alex Mohler. “It's not ever surprising to be in the van with the iPod on shuffle and literally go from a straight up hardcore band to some hip-hop, punk or metal.” And although this really eclectic mix of genres does not always translate directly into ISADORA’s music, the band says that it does have a lot to do with how they approach songwriting. “We do not limit ourselves to writing in a box or feeling that we have to rely on clichés or formulas. Those mentalities in songwriting are a few of the big reasons some music today has become so stagnant," Mohler says.
ISADORA released their brand new self-titled record on September 12, 2006. The album features twelve exalting tracks, matching energetic rock riffs and pop-infused melodies synchronized with organic vocals, intricate leads, and powerful drive. The release is just another step in ISADORA's path to make music exciting again. ISADORA truly is one of those bands that everybody should be aware of.
