Laura Allan was an American musician. She was based in Berkeley California and began singing and playing all kinds of instruments as a child. Her father was a jazz musician, her mother a professor at UC Berkeley. She sang and with the best of them: Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Paul Horne and Eric Carmen to name a few. Her name has a brief mention in the 2008 book "Girls Like Us" where the author mentions that Joni met Laura and copied her style of playing a certain instrument. Her CD Telegraph which came out around 2002 had an eclectic mix of music that showcased her lovely voice and musical expertise with guitars, keyboards and other instruments. Laura Allan passed away May, 2008.
