Tenorio Jr.

Tenorio Jr. has been played over 10 times on NTS, first on 15 September 2013. Tenorio Jr.'s music has been featured on 11 episodes.

Considered one of the most important musicians of bossa nova, Francisco Tenorio Jr performed in Beco das Garrafas, in Rio De Janeiro. His piano can be listened to in terrific records of the decade of 1960, such as "É Samba Novo" (Edison Machado) and "Vagamente" (Wanda Sá), both relaunched in CD in 2001, or the seminal "Embalo" (1964). In 1976, he traveled for Buenos Aires, following Vinicius de Moraes and Toquinho in turn of shows. In March 18 of the same year, after a presentation in the Theater Grand Rex, left the Normandie Hotel, saying to Vinicius: "I will eat a sandwich and back soon." He was led, imprisoned, by the clandestine net of the Argentine official repression. Tortured for nine days, he was shot in the head. He lefts Carmen Cerqueira Magalhães, his wife (pregnant), and four children. The fifth child was born one month after his death.
