Moon Wheel

Moon Wheel

Moon Wheel has been played on NTS in shows including Alien Jams w/ Chloe Frieda, featured first on 5 January 2014. Songs played include The Weather, Walpurga and Elbsandsteingebirge.

Moon Wheel is the project of Swedish artist and musician Olle Holmberg. Increasingly prolific and active on the Berlin scene, Holmberg has started turning heads locally and abroad through his finely-crafted and constantly evolving productions.

Holmberg’s cerebral, shape-shifting compositions are inspired by nature, history, and wandering, synthesizing electronic and organic sounds through dubby groove deconstructions, uncanny ghost-in-the-machine moods, and grey psychedelic hazes. Moon Wheel releases have been steadily shifting towards experimental tones and music for late-night listening.

With a self-titled solo album debut on L.A. label Not Not Fun in March 2013, a follow-up 7” on eclectic Parisian label Wool Recordings and a debut appearance in Berghain alongside Oneohtrix Point Never later in the year, and with a strong 2014 start alongside Marcel Fengler and Peter Van Hoesen at Boiler Room Berlin in early 2014, as well as supporting Bee Mask in London, Moon Wheel has been garnering praise as a producer with a "subtle knack for building a mood" (Resident Advisor), that is "at his best when dissolving the boundaries in weird dub scapes" (Boomkat).

2015 saw him perform in Panorama Bar for the CTM Festival in Berlin and was also a composer in residency at EMS in Stockholm. A new Moon Wheel full length was released on Where To Now? in 2015.
