Sarah Martin is currently a violinist and vocalist in the Scottish band Belle & Sebastian. Her songwriting contributions to the band include "Asleep on a Sunbeam" from Dear Catastrophe Waitress and the haunting "Waiting for the Moon to Rise" from Fold Your Hands, Child, You Walk Like a Peasant. While mistakenly thought by some to be a replacement for cellist/vocalist Isobel Campbell, Martin joined Belle & Sebastian in 1997, well before Campbell's departure in 2002.
