Neophyte

Neophyte has been played on NTS shows including CDMX Tapes, with Braincracking first played on 14 August 2015.

Neophyte is a Dutch hardcore (gabber) group formed in 1992 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The original members of the group are Jeroen Streunding (DJ Neophyte, also known as The Beholder for hardstyle releases), Danny Greten, and Robin van Roon. Jeroen Streunding had been a DJ and organized smaller parties around 1990 before meeting Danny Greten at a local event, leading them to collaborate on music. Robin van Roon, who was a close friend and classmate of Greten, joined them shortly after.

The trio initially produced tracks on an old Amiga computer using Protracker. They sought to be signed by DJ Paul Elstak, who had recently started his label Rotterdam Records. Although Elstak initially rejected their tracks, deeming them "pure noise," he later changed his mind and agreed to release their music after several months and multiple attempts. Over the years, Neophyte gained recognition for their music, releasing more tracks and performing at various parties. In 1995, Robin van Roon left the group to focus on his studies, and Jarno Butter, a guitarist and close friend of Danny Greten, joined Neophyte to enhance their live performances.

In 2005, the group released a compilation album titled "13 Jaar Terreur" (13 Years of Terror), marking their 13 years in the scene. The album also included tracks released under various aliases, such as "Bodylotion." Neophyte also runs a record label called Neophyte Records, which hosts artists like Tha Playah, DJ Panic, and Evil Activities.
