A Tribe Called Quest is a hip-hop group composed of the two rappers Q-Tip & Phife Dawg plus DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad and originating from Queens, New York. The group was unique within the hip-hop community for lyrics focused are social issues and consumerism (over the contemporary norm of gangsta rap) and a sonic style that blended jazz & rap.

1991's Low End Theory & 1993's Midnight Marauders are both considered to be two of the most important hip-hop albums to date.
