Fabián Panisello has been played on NTS shows including Beatrice Dillon, with Études Pour Piano first played on 12 October 2015.

FABIÁN PANISELLO was born in 1963 in Buenos Aires and studied originally in his birthplace before continuing his studies with Boguslaw Schaeffer at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He then studied Composition with Elliott Carter, Franco Donatoni, Brian Ferneyhough and Luis de Pablo.

Fabián Panisello lives in Madrid, where he is Academic Director of the Conservatoire “Reina Sofía” and Artistic Director of the Plural Ensemble. He has been commissioned by the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Ensemble Wien-Berlin, Takefu Festival (Japan), Orquesta Nacional de España and the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg.

Conductors such as Pierre Boulez and Peter Eötvös have taken an interest in Panisello’s music and helped secure success. As a conductor, and having studied with Peter Eötvös, Panisello founded his own group, the Plural Ensemble, with whom he toured Spain, Germany, France, Austria, Israel, Japan, Chile, Argentinia and the USA.

He enjoyed a close cooperation with Luciano Berio and Karlheinz Stockhausen, and was joint conductor for the premiere of Stockhausen’s Hoch-Zeiten with the WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln and rehearsal conductor for the premiere of Mixtur 2003 with the DSO Berlin.

Fabián Panisello regularly conducts numerous internationally renowned ensembles and appears at important festivals around the world. In the 2008/2009 season the Plural Ensemble, founded and directed by Panisello, will be Ensemble in Residence at the Museum “Reina Sofía” in Madrid and will be supported by the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
