Enzo Carella

Enzo Carella

Enzo Carella has been played on NTS over 10 times, featured on 17 episodes and was first played on 19 October 2015.

Enzo Carella (Rome, 8 January 1952 – 21 February 2017) was an Italian singer-songwriter. Active since 1976, his major hit is the song "Barbara", which was ranked at second place at the Sanremo Music Festival in 1979.

He has been active mostly during the '70 and '80. His first album, Vocazione, was released in 1977: it was the starting point of a long term collaboration with poet Pasquale Panella (mostly known for authoring Lucio Battisti last albums lyrics). He participated to Festival di Sanremo in 1979. He later published other two successful albums: Barbara e altri Carella (1979) and Sfinge(1981). His first three albums represent a classy, but fresh, example of Italian '80s pop music. After a 10 years silence, in 1992 he released Carella de Carellis, which contains new tunes and remixes of old successes and in 1995 Se non cantassi sarei nessuno: l'Odissea di Carella e Panella. In 2007 he had a long waited coming back, with the album Ahoh-yé-nanà, also co-authored with Panella.
