NTS regular Smerz has been hosting a show since 8 December 2016. Smerz is a frequent guest to NTS, appearing on various shows between 7 June 2017 and most recently on 19 November 2024. Smerz has been played over 150 times on NTS, first on 19 March 2016. Smerz's music has been featured on 125 episodes.

Smerz is a Norwegian electronic music duo based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The two members, Catharina Stoltenberg and Henriette Motzfeldt, met at the University of Copenhagen and subsequently dropped out of school to pursue music.

Stoltenberg and Motzfeldt have cited DJ Rashad and Rihanna as influences, as well as the television series Girls.

Smerz signed to XL Recordings in 2017. Two EPs have been released so far: Okey (2016) and Have fun (2018).
