New York based Artist/ Producer /Remixer/ Vox: DJ Jaymz Nylon developed an early passion for vinyl. At the tender age of 3 years old Jaymz' father put together a collection of a few of young Nylon's favorites which included Fela, Santana, Otis Redding, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Al Green and a little Samba thrown in by his mother. In 1993 Jaymz produced his first record Ofunwa It all begins here on Tribal America and his debut album "Afrotech" on Irma in 2000. Recording under various pseudonyms as well as Jaymz Nylon, Jaymz has recorded for Labels like King Street/ Nite Grooves, Loveslap Recordings, Out of the Loop, Captivating, Eightball/Empire, State and his own Nylon imprint. Jaymz also has a couple new singles coming out in early 2005 on Main Squeeze and ForePlay Recordings. After a long journey of acquiring and sharing knowledge of this business we call music, Jaymz has returned to concentrate on his own label Nylon Recordings. To celebrate his return, Nylon is releasing a new album entitled African Audio Research Program Vol. 1. Its always nice to hear an attitude free album showing that there is still warmth and soul in electronic music. On this album youll find epic tracks like Shine, People Still Dream, Morning Eyes & Skullduggery, along with stunning vocals Wantcha feat. Bobbi Sanders, In Your Calm feat. Sokunthary Svay, Make It Happen & Love Is The Answer both feat. Joshua Tree and Virgin Sand & Broken Heart both showcasing Jaymz vocals. Youll also hear the extremely talented Jay Rodriguez (the man behind the world famous Groove Collective) on sax/flute. An added bonus for this album is that its perfect for DJs that incorporate CDs into their sets. This album leaves the listener craving for more and more, but they will just have to settle by putting their player on repeat or waiting for the release of A2RP Vol. 2. 12in singles from the album will be found on leading labels like Perfect Toy and Nylon Recordings.
