Harold McNair (Nov 5 1931 - March 7 1971) was a renowned saxophonist and flautist. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, McNair stared out playing at the Alpha Boys School under the tutelage of Victor Tulloch. He remained in the West Indies for over a decade, before moving to Great Britain in the 1950s. However, before arriving in London, he toured Europe with Quincy Jones and worked on film and TV scores in Paris.

McNair died of lung cancer at the age of 39 in Maida Vale, London.
