This name can refer to two difference artists:
Chris Carpenter is a relatively obscure singer from Detroit who only ever released one single. “This World (Is Closing In On Me)” / “Waterfalls” was initially released by the band Preston in the mid-’60s, and was re-released by Carpenter three times on three different labels. “This World (Is Closing In On Me)” is a very atmospheric piece of psychedelia. Preston’s version is edgier with its use of fuzz guitar. “Waterfalls” is a rather eerie track with vocals that are said to sound like Bobby Vee on acid. Both sides of this single have appeared on various compilation albums.
Chris Carpenter is also a songwriter from San Diego, California. He has won multiple songwriting competitions, his 2012 performances included, House of Blues, Humpherys, Hard Rock Cafe and The Thunderbird races at Bay Fair just to name a few appearances. He became a finalist for the 2012 Hard Rock Cafe's Global Battle of the Bands in addition to a nomination for "Best Pop artist" of 2012 by the San Diego Music Awards. The CD "Up All Night" was nominated "Best Pop Album of 2013" by the San Diego Music Awards 2013
