Escher is a progressive metal band from Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina. They released their debut EP in January 2012 and continue to work on a full length record.
Escher is a Western Australian outfit consisting of Alistair Watson (vocals, backing vocals, acoustic guitar, cello) and Cassie Swinney (vocals, backing vocals, harp), an award-winning song-writing duo. In 2004, Escher released their debut EP Precious Things, which gained some excellent reviews and solid community radio airplay across Australia. In the week after its release, Escher’s song Breathe won the contemporary pop category of the 2004 Western Australian Music Industry Association Song Contest, competing against 1300 other entries. Escher’s launch show was also officially sponsored by Perth radio station RTR FM.
Before they became James Edge And The Mindstep, some of the members were in a band called Escher and released the Overnight EP.
