Michael Weston King & Lou Dalgleish are My Darling Clementine.
"How Do You Plead?" is an album of pure and natural country duets, written and sung by Michael Weston King and his wife and partner, Lou Dalgleish.
My Darling Clementine evokes the great duets of such icons as Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton, George Jones & Tammy Wynette but adds a touch of country soul to the mix bringing memories of the likes of Delaney and Bonnie, Donnie Fritts, Bobby Gentry and Dan Penn.
The entire album was recorded at Gold Top studios in Chalk Farm, London, with Neil Brockbank, who has produced the last three Nick Lowe albums, among many others, at the helm.
The band consists of some of London’s finest and most innovative musicians:
Guitar - Martin Belmont (Graham Parker and The Rumour, Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello, Ducks Deluxe, Johnny Cash);
Piano and Organ - Geraint Watkins (Van Morrison, Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings, Nick Lowe);
Bass - Kevin Foster (Jackie Leven, Los Pistoleros)
Drums - Bobby Irwin (Van Morrison, Nick Lowe, Carlene Carter)
Drums - Jim Russell (Scotty Moore, James Burton)
Violin - Bob Loveday ( Van Morrison, Nick Lowe, Penguin Cafe Orchestra)
Pedal Steel - Alan Cook (The Charlatans, Chris Hillman, Jackie Leven, Michael Weston King)
"A really exceptional country duets album…superb stuff" 3rd Coast Music, Texas
"Overflowing with classics , easily one of the best old school country albums of this or any year" Netrhythms
"13 original songs paying faultless homage to the hurtin’ n cheatin’ duet albums of George and Tammy, Dolly and Porter" Maverick
"Truly a great record" Chris Hillman
