Alexander Goldscheider

Alexander Goldscheider has been played on NTS shows including Paradise show w/ Kasra V, with The Moons Of Jupiter I first played on 3 July 2017.

Alexander Goldscheider was born in Prague and started as a music critic and radio DJ. He read Music at Charles University (PhD for the analysis of The Beatles songs). Not contented with writing about music, he turned to song writing and had many songs covered by Czech pop/rock music singers. Working as a staff producer at Supraphon, the biggest East European record company, he produced singles+albums of Czech rock/pop/jazz singers & groups. Having acquired some of first commercially available synthesizers he made electronic recordings for radio, TV/film and records - see here a 1979 Czech video "A Robot is Talking to You".

He moved to London in 1981, where he recorded two solo albums for Red Bus - Themes for a One-Man Band Vol. I and II -, worked briefly at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and co-started a computer and music company Romantic Robot. After a decade of designing and manufacturing software and hardware, Romantic Robot moved into music production and publishing (see www.romantic-robot.com). The first double-CD "Theresienstadt: The Music 1941-44" became The CD of the Year 1991 both in the UK and USA, other interesting CDs followed (such asAaron Copland - An American in Prague), until Alexander Goldscheider started releasing his own CDs, namely "STABAT MATER" and "The SONG of SONGS", both available here on last.fm. Other releases are in the pipeline - please watch this space and in the meantime try the currently available recordings. Thank you!
